Culture in Couture: Africa

When I walk by an African cloth shop in Cricklewood I can’t help thinking how amazing are their prints and how lovely they’ll look combined with a plain polo shirt. Africa fascinates me and I’m longing to travel there someday, colours in Africa must change your view forever.

One of the many wonderful things about Africa is its fashion; full of colours, sensuality and imagination. Thanks to initiatives such as Runway Africa or the African Fashion Week hosted in NYC we have known true artist in fashion design. Fashion in Africa is alive and I would like to thank blogs like “Ciaafrica” for spreading  the awesome African style!

International designers have been captivated by the African inspiration and we have seen African influence in ss11 proposals.

Vogue Africa has been one of the forerunners of keeping the image and essence of African style without renouncing to high fashion.
